Discover Shanghai in style: a 5-star luxurious boutique hotel mixing Art Deco design and traditional Oriental Style… perfectly located on the Bund!...

Discover Shanghai with a Summer escape to remember!...

After Bali bliss, time to explore China's largest city, Shanghai, a popular tourist destination for its energy and cultural attractions. Shanghai is the fastest developing city in China and is now home of some pretty amazing clubs and restaurants. Looking for culture, or a fun week-end, this city has got it all.

Twangoo is offering you a unique package in a luxurious boutique hotel in the heart of the city. Les Suites Orient, Bund Shanghai is located along the city's prestigious Bund area, offering fascinating views of the Huangpu River and the Pudong district. Great great location, a beautiful art deco design, amazing service, this hotel is a winner and has been receiving enthusiastic reviews.

Thanks to Twangoo you can spend 2 nights in the Shanghai Suite for USD435 instead of USD1,490... that's what I call an irresistible Twangoo offer. Your Twangoo voucher is valid till August 31st, 2011 and includes all tax & service charges as well as daily breakfast and free wireless internet access throughout the hotel. Should you decide to explore the city further, you can buy up to 2 vouchers and stay longer... or come back again...

Les Suites Orient, Bund Shanghai is the perfect place for a great week-end. I think when staying in Shanghai one should definitely be staying next to the river. It defines the city's charm, all the best restaurants and bars are around, you'll be close to all the main attractions. But Les Suites Orient has much more than location to offer. Sleek and chic, minimalist yet luxurious, the hotel offers all the comfort one could wish for. Expect elegance and sophistication. The rooms are very well appointed with luxurious touches, great sound systems, huge beds, a to-die-for view overlooking the Bund... yes, the view from the rooms is truly fantastic...

Founded in 1999, Les Suites opened its first boutique Da-An Hotel in Taipei, followed in 2002 by Ching-Cheng Hotel also in Taipei and just recently Les Suites Orient, Bund Shanghai. Les Suites has the honor to be selected by both the New York Times and New York Magazine as the best boutique hotel in Taiwan.

The Shanghai boutique hotel has 168 elegantly designed rooms in Art-Deco style with an eastern charm, including 43 luxurious suites as well as rooms for disabled guests. From the 5th to 22nd floor, each room has a panoramic view of Shanghai city - the glamorous Bund, futuristic Pudong CBD area or the classical Yu Garden. As part of the chic European décor, all rooms are decorated in a palette of muted earth tones with wood paneling and floors to provide an oasis of calm in one of the world's most dynamic cities.

The Shanghai Suite is a 45 sq.m. junior suite offering a separate lounge area that lets you rest or invite friends for a drink without giving up the privacy of the bedroom. You can pick your preferred scenery of either the Huangpu River or the Yu Garden and indulge in the fascinating city.

All guestrooms are equipped with the latest technology and entertainment hardware such as wireless Internet access, iPod® dock, stereo system, DVD player, and thoughtful details such as an Illy espresso machine and weather display panel on the bathroom mirror.

New in the city, the hotel is very reputed for the quality of its service. The concierge and reception is extremely helpful, recommending restaurants, activities, and making reservations to ensure you get the most out of your stay.

One more advantage is that almost everything is included in your room booking: a very generous breakfast buffet with Western and Chinese delicacies, free WiFi (which is getting rarer and rarer nowadays), soft drinks, free lounge access (with computers, printers, cappucino machines and snacks at your disposal)... And that is a pleasant surprise!

Should you wish to dine in the comfort of your own suite, they have an excellent Shanghainese and Taiwanese menu as well as a Continental one. Café DongXi, located on the 2nd floor of the hotel, offers all-day dining menu featuring eastern and western cuisines with a perfect mix. Le lounge on the third floor offers complimentary coffee, tea, all day refreshments, use of PC and Mac computers, and complimentary wireless Internet throughout the hotel. The laid-back cigar bar offers cigar, fine wines, and cognac, while the library offers a quiet retreat. There is also a fitness center complemented by a Zen space for yoga and meditation on the ninth floor.

If you haven't been to Shanghai yet or have some friends or family coming to visit you this summer, I think that this Twangoo Jetsetter is exactly what you need for a week-end away... Or simply if, like me, you have fallen under the charm of this unique city, this is the perfect excuse to come back... Shanghai is such a fast-changing city that everytime I come back there, I find more to discover!

Let me give you some of my favorites spots and addresses in the city:

  • For a glimpse of Shanghai past, walk in the French concession and eat classic Shanghainese food at Fu1039 in a restored 1930s villa.
  • For a bit of sightseeing, I like the desuet charm of the Yu Yuan garden, 16th century, very traditional, with little pavillons, ponds, and everything to snap the perfect holidays pics.
  • Don't miss the night food market, in Shouning Rd; extremely pittoresque and has the best xiao long bao (the famous Shanghainese dumplings), Jia Jia Tan Bao in the Huangpu district is a great spot. A very simple place, one room with view on the kitchen but oh! those dumplings...

Lola's Secret: looking for a place to party the night away, M1NT is the place to be... Not tired yet, continue at Mao, we are talking electro music, a crowd of gorgeous models, and a packed dance floor at 7am... a sure mix for an eventful night...
