Didier, a charming French restaurant on a quiet cobblestone street near Gough Street, serves up hearty platters of home-style French Provencal comfort food with unique confidence and flair. The gem of a bistro boasts two small terraces, from where jovial foreign voices adn laughter drift up the steps to Hollywood Road, while inside the décor is casual, quirky and très typique. If you see a lot of French people here, it’s probably because this is one of the few authentic French restaurants in town with real home-style food and a real neighborhood feel.
The restaurant is the life ambition of Didier Rochat, former executive chef of Café des Artistes and La Brasserie at Marco Polo Hotel, who’s impressive credentials include working under 4 Michelin-starred chefs. The native of Provence helms the kitchen while meandering in and out to chat to customers and make recommendations, just like a caring boss should.
Didier Restaurant & Bar is renowned for its imported seasonal produce, sublime crepes and other decadent sweet treats. For just HK$150 inclusive of service charge, you and a friend can sample two of their famous desserts, or their signature cheese platter. As this deal was meant to be shared, it also comes with two glasses of wine. Choose any of their boutique or natural wines from the menu!
